China and the U.S. are in trade talks, trying to end the ongoing trade war. A truce is in effect, with no new tariffs added, but only 14 days are left until it expires on March 1. Jointly chairing the talks are Chinese Vice-Premier Liu He, U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. The talks began on Thursday, and no official statement has been released regarding progress. But many observers are optimistic that both sides can meet each other halfway.
