First Chinese film week in Dubai to strengthen cultural exchange

The first Chinese film week in Dubai has released scores of Chinese films for the first time in the United Arab Emirate (UAE).
The film week kicked off on Monday evening with a gala red carpet reception.
Organizers expressed the hope that through the holding of the film week, economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries will be strengthened.

Chinese well-known film and television actors including Li Xiaolu, Hu Bing and Lin Yongjian appeared on the red carpet.
Chinese films that will be shown during the film week include "The Heavenly Lion," "Broken Wind," "Return to 20," "Night," "Chinese Partner" and so on.
Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, the chairman of the Executive Committee for "Halla China" (Arabic slang for hello), said in his speech that the film week will build a mutual cooperation for filmmakers and production companies in the UAE and China.

"Halla China" is an initiative jointly launched by Dubai Meraas Group and Dubai Holding Group.
The program will launch projects and activities covering trade, investment, culture, tourism and other fields, aiming to respond to the Belt and Road Initiative.
Li Lingbing, China's Consul General to Dubai, said in his speech that with the support of the Consulate General and the China Film Administration, the film week will showcase Chinese films that reflect China's profound history, splendid culture and modern development.
