More than 1,000 cultural relics from the Palace Museum in Beijing are currently on display in Taiyuan City.The six-month exhibition will give interested visitors a closer look at precious cultural artifacts. 

The seven-part special exhibition was launched by the Palace Museum to showcase the ancient Chinese art works, porcelains and historic photos during the week-long National Day holiday, which is also the largest ever exhibition for the cultural relics to have been held outside the Palace Museum. 

"This is the first time in 93 years that more than 1,000 cultural relics have left the Palace Museum. It was our clearing and restoring work in recent years that made an exhibition of so many objects possible. In the past six years, we have launched 150 exhibitions outside the Palace Museum, which made us the museum with most outside exhibitions in the world,” said Shan Jixiang, director of the Palace Museum.
