Beijing praises Putin's statement on China-Russia ties

Beijing welcomes Russian President Vladimir Putin's positive remarks on China-Russia relationship, said Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang at a regular press briefing on Thursday.   
During Putin's annual address on Wednesday, the Russian president said mutually-beneficial ties between China and Russia is a vital stabilizing factor in international affairs. 
"The China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination has accomplished great achievements in recent years. It has brought many benefits to the people of both countries," Geng added, saying the two countries have expanded cooperation and worked together to defend world stability.
Geng also pointed out that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations. 
"Both sides will take this opportunity to deepen coordination and push forward bilateral ties."
