Shenzhen’s first international flower show in full swing

Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area 2019 Shenzhen Flower Show is currently being held at the Fairy Lake Botanical Garden in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen, drawing numerous visitors from different parts of the country.
It marks the first international flower show in the city and will be an annual event in the coming years. This year's theme is "Flowering Shenzhen, Flourishing Life" with Matthiola incana designated as the theme flower – a common garden flower that symbolizes eternal love and beauty.

More than 20 well-known horticulture and landscape companies from home and abroad have participated in the show, highlighting nearly 800 new varieties of ornamental plants as well as around 130,000 pots of flowers.
It also features floral displays of several top domestic and foreign florists. Five gardens are created by foreign masters from the UK, France, Japan, and the Philippines, displaying the exotic charms of the world of flowers.

On top of that, visitors are welcome to attend special forums and various activities, including Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Flower City Construction Forum, 2019 Shenzhen Flower Industry Forum, Children's Painting Show, as well as music and cultural performances.
The flower show opens from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day until March 31, with a ticket price of 15 yuan (2.23 U.S. dollars). 

Tips:

1. The daily number of visitors is restricted, so early booking is recommended. 
2. It is advised that you take public transportation due to limited parking spaces at the botanical garden.
3. You might also need a pair of comfortable shoes, sunscreen and insect repellents.
