China and the United Arab Emirates should advance high-tech cooperation, Chinese President Xi Jinping said Thursday when meeting with Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at the Great Hall of the People.
The UAE official is in Beijing to attend the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) scheduled for April 25-27.
President Xi has called for the two sides to step up their work in fighting terrorism so as to maintain regional peace and stability.
The Chinese president also hopes to see more people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
The UAE vice president spoke highly of President Xi's visit to his country last year, which according to him, greatly pushed the ties between the two nations.
He vows to advance cooperation with China in all areas while stating his firm belief that the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative will be a great success.
