The 3rd Dragon Boat World Cup kicked off in Chongqing, a southwestern city of China. The biennial event is one of the most important dragon boat racing events in the world.

In the 200-meter straight track round, China, Thailand, Canada and Russia reached the final. Each team consisted of 22 people, but in the relay and pursuit races, each team only had 12.

China dominated the race from beginning to end and crossed the finish line in a time of 40.32 seconds. 

Thailand and Canada came second and third respectively.

In the 100-meter straight track race, the same four teams were in the final and, once again, China overwhelmed the race with a winning time of 21.74 seconds to claim gold.

Thailand picked up their second silver on the same day and Russia got the bronze.
