The Argentine Football Association (AFA) distributed manuals for the 2018 Russian World Cup on Tuesday, but one chapter outlining how to pick up Russian women is causing controversy, Tencent Sports reported.
The manuals were prepared for reporters and team staff from Argentina for the coming World Cup, to help them better understand Russia's society and culture. However, the AFA got too "thoughtful" and added one chapter entitled "What do I have to do to get lucky with a Russian girl?"

The AFA has listed eight pieces of advice in this chapter to help its staff pick up local girls during the Russian World Cup. The list includes the following:
Pay attention to your image because first impressions are very important.
Don't treat Russian girls as objects, they don't like it, and they don't like annoying men.
Men who take initiative are preferred. If you don't have initiative, practice with other girls in advance.
You will find many beautiful Russian women, so be selective.
The manual soon found its way onto social media, where the AFA would soon find itself under attack. Many football fans said Argentina's football association had forgotten what its job should be – helping the team get better, not teaching its staff how to get lucky with the locals.

The AFA soon announced that it had retracted all the manuals and would publish new ones with the infamous chapter removed. However, what was done cannot be undone. Some fans joked that no matter what the association does next, they would not be surprised.
The association has been no stranger to controversy. During presidential voting in December 2015, the final result was a 38-38 draw between Luis Segura and Marcelo Tinelli. Interestingly, there were only 75 people eligible to vote. During the Copa America Centenario in 2016, the preparation and logistics for Argentina's football team were so catastrophic, even Argentine superstar Lionel Messi said, "Oh god, AFA is a disaster" on social media.
Argentina is the seeded team in Group D with Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria. The 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia starts on June 14.
