The preparations for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics include securing corporate sponsorships, and the organizers have added two more to their list. The China National Petroleum Corporation and Sinopec, which is the brand name of the China Petrochemical Corporation, were named as the games' official oil and gas partners at a signing ceremony in Beijing on Friday.
Zhang Jiandong, vice mayor of the Chinese capital, as well as the executive vice president of the games organizing committee, congratulated the two companies for becoming top tier sponsors. This arrangement will see the two firms share marketing rights for the Games in the oil and gas category.
Both corporations were also Official Partners during the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. After joining Zhang in inking the agreement, the leaders of the two petroleum powerhouses said they will take advantage of their strong presence in Beijing, Hebei Province, and nearby areas to provide the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics with high quality services, as well as a reliable supply of oil and gas.
