China appreciates Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s positive comments about China, and hopes both sides will meet each other halfway to push bilateral ties along the right track, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said on Wednesday.
Hua’s remarks were in response to Turnbull’s recent speech at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, which spoke highly of China’s reform and opening up, and bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
“China hopes that Australia would meet China halfway to promote mutual trust and cooperation between the two nations on the basis of mutual respect and equal treatment,” Hua said.
