China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated on Tuesday that China has no interest in interfering in the US internal affairs and its election in a rebuke to US Vice President Mike Pence's remark who accused Beijing of meddling in the US election.
"China always upholds 'non-interference' principles and has no interest in interfering [in] the US's internal affairs and the US election," the spokesperson of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lu Kang made the remarks at Tuesday's daily briefing.

Lu also denied the accusation of China using the tariff to interfere in the US election.
"The fact is clear, the US started trade friction and China forced to take countermeasures," Lu said. "And we have said multiple times, there's no winner in a trade war."
Following Pence's remark last Thursday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has stopped in Beijing on Monday during his latest Asia trips, where he met with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
Wang has urged the US side to stop "unwarranted accusations and wrongdoings against China immediately" in the meeting with Pompeo.
