Hun Sen, president of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and the country's prime minister, met Song Tao, head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Phnom Penh on Thursday.

Song congratulated Hun Sen over CPP's election victory, stressing that China is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges and mutual learning with Cambodia.

Hun expressed his willingness to deepen exchanges with China and expand pragmatic cooperation in various fields.

Before the meeting, Hun Sen honored Song with the Grand Cross of Cambodia. The kingdom's second highest civilian honor.
