A forum on deepening media cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative kicks off in China’s southwest city Chengdu. Media players in Asia are gathering for a general assembly of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. The leaders of CGTN participate in the forum and discuss media responsibilities, opportunities and challenges as the world enters an age of great progress and profound transformation. 

Jiang Heping, Controller of China Global Television Network (CGTN) is delivering a speech about future developments in media. Starting with "Miss out on China, you miss out on the future", Jiang introduces CGTN as a news agency, detailing its coverage, as well as its plans for future development. He stresses that CGTN is committed to reform in a time when global media is undergoing unprecedented change in order to open up to the new age.
