CBA Roundup: Xinjiang beats Tongxi 116-95, Bayi overwhelmed by Fujian

Point guard Darius Adams hit a game-high 33 points, nine assists and six steals as Xinjiang swept Tongxi 116-95 in the second round of the 2018-19 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday night.
Xinjiang outscored their rivals from the beginning with a 10-2 run. Zhou Yixiang found a hot hand and fired 3 three-pointers to help Xinjiang lead 57-45 at halftime.
Adams, the former MVP of the CBA finals, helped stretch the gap to 20 points, forcing Tongxi to call a timeout in the third quarter.
The game saw many turnovers from Xinjiang, but the home team still enlarged the cushion and took their second straight win of the season.
Center Fan Ziming notched up 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for Xinjiang.
Joseph Young scored a team-high 32 points but was unable to guide Tongxi to the win.

Elsewhere, visiting Bayi was overwhelmed by Fujian 81-120, suffering their second loss of the season.
Chen Linjian scored 29 points for Fujian and rookie Guo Haowen contributed a team-high 16 points and five rebounds.
Marcus Denmon's three-pointers in the fourth quarter helped visiting Zhejiang level the score against Sichuan. Jason Thompson engineered an 8-0 run in overtime, helping Sichuan beat Zhejiang 119-112.
Jamal Franklin, the former NBA player, made his first triple-double of the season with a game-high 38 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Teammate Thompson managed 36 points and 11 rebounds.
Zhejiang's international players, Marcus Denmon and Tyler Hansbrough combined for 65 points.
