Regarding the Wuhan informal meeting as a new starting point, China is willing to work with India to continuously promote mutual political trust, comprehensively carry out beneficial cooperation and push bilateral ties to move forward in a better, faster and more stable manner, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Saturday.
Xi made the remarks when meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in the coastal city of Qingdao to attend the 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.
During the meeting, Xi welcomed India to attend its first SCO summit as a full member. China will work with India and other member states to carry forward the "Shanghai Spirit" and promote the healthy and stable development of the SCO, he added.

Xi noted his informal meeting with Modi a month ago in Wuhan has reached important consensus adding that a positive atmosphere of supporting Sino-Indian relations is emerging.
He also stressed that early gains in implementing the Wuhan consensus have been made and two sides should make persistent efforts to intensify implementation, maintain strategic communication, expand economic and trade cooperation, promote cultural exchanges.
Modi, who regarded his successful informal meeting with President Xi in Wuhan as a milestone in the history of bilateral ties, said the vital Wuhan informal meeting further confirmed his confidence in developing Sino-Indian relations.
He noted Sino-Indian cooperation is of importance to the peace and prosperity of the world adding that India is willing to push forward bilateral relations on the basis of the Wuhan informal meeting.
As the SCO's new member, India will play an active role in the organization and support China in successfully hosting the Qingdao summit.
