The Philippines is welcoming an important guest on November 20. Chinese President Xi Jinping is paying a state visit to the Philippines, the first such visit by a Chinese president to the country in 13 years. Diplomatic relations between China, now Manila’s largest trading partner, and the Philippines, were established on June 9, 1975.
