Two have been rescued and 11 others are still missing from a Chinese fishing boat that sank in the Taiwan Strait on Thursday morning.
The two fishermen were rescued by a passing fishing boat on Friday afternoon at around 6 p.m. after floating in the water for a whole day.
They later got in touch with the maritime search and rescue center for help.
The "Mindongyu 61648" fishing boat from Fujian Province keeled over at about 10 a.m. on Thursday in central Taiwan Strait and 13 of the crew members on board fell into the water, according to the provincial maritime search and rescue center.
Rescue boats and helicopters from Fujian, Guangdong, and Taiwan were dispatched to the scene. The search operation is ongoing.
