Sarah Sanders, the White House Press Secretary tweeted on June 23 that she was told to leave a restaurant because she works for President Donald Trump.
In the tweet, Sanders wrote that she was going to have dinner at the Red Hen in Lexington, Virginia on June 22 but then she was asked to leave by the owner and added “her actions say far more about her than about me.”

The owner, named Stephanie Wilkinson, told to The Washington Post that Sarah Huckabee Sanders worked in the service of an “inhumane and unethical” administration so she decided to ask Sanders to leave after talking to her staff.
Wilkinson recalled her time with Sanders, saying that she let Sanders out to the patio of the restaurant and explained that her restaurant has certain standards that they upheld, such as honesty, compassion, and cooperation. “Sanders said ‘that’s fine. I’ll go,” she added.

Mike Huckabee, Sanders’ father and the chair of the US’ national governors association, replied to Sanders’ tweet on the same night, commenting that “Bigotry. On the menu at Red Hen Restaurant in Lexington VA. Or you can ask for the ‘Hate Plate’. And appetizers are ‘small plates for small minds.’”

Both of the tweets immediately helped Sanders make the headlines of social media and turn heads on Twitter with more than 180,000 comments and over 60,000 retweets.
“Discrimination based on political beliefs is ok then?” @cory_bingham questioned the restaurant below Sanders’ tweet.
“It's not even close to the same! Not serving a gay couple is bigotry... not serving a person because they're hurting our citizens with their policies and lies, Is PATRIOTIC!!! Hell Yeah Red Hen that's what AMERICA used to be about!” @Derek_c_Serpa posted and compared the restaurant owner’s decision with a recent ruling by the Supreme Court in favor of a baker who refused to make a cake for a gay couple.

Sarah Sanders is not the first person perplexed by dissidents of the Trump administration. According to CNN, protesters were seen shouting at Kirstjen Nielsen, the secretary of Department of Homeland Security as she dined out in Washington, DC last week.
