China's women's volleyball team sealed a 3-2 victory to the hosts Thailand in the semi-finals of the women's AVC Cup on Friday.
China's team started well as they took the first frame 25-18 when Gao Yi pounded down a goal for her side. China then continued to push forward in the second as they won the set 25-21.
China faced a close encounter during the third match. Onuma Sittirak saved the match point to tie 24 all for the hosts, and later took the third set 27-25 with a kill. Then the hosts found their way back in fourth as they took the set 25-22 to tie the score 2-2.
The China's side did not miss any chances in deciding the set as they won the frame 15-10 after Liu Yanhan who scored a total of 42 points in the match was founding the back corner with a blast.
Olympic champions China were taking on the hosts for a spot in the final and after five hard fought sets, the PRC prevailed which means the defending champions will face Japan for the title on Sunday.
