Five killed in gas explosion in SW China

Five people were killed when gas exploded in a coal mine in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, according to Xinhua news agency.

Another three people were injured in the incident, the cause of which is currently being investigated.

According to local authorities, the explosion happened at around 11:45 a.m. on Monday in a closed coal mine when workers were sealing a well.
