China has made remarkable strides in its endeavor to clean up the smog, said Mr. Li Ganjie, Minister of Ecology and Environment. In 2018, the 338 prefecture-level cities of China enjoyed good-air-quality days nearly 80 percent of the year. The year also saw another 5 million households in the northern regions converting from coal to electricity for winter heating.
