A time-lapse video showed the Three Gorges Dam was discharging to brace the first flood formed on Yangtze River’s upper reaches on July 5, in Yichang City, central China's Hubei Province. The reservoir faced an inflow of 51,000 cubic meters per second and an outflow of 40,000 cubic meters per second. China’s Three Gorges Dam is the world’s largest hydropower station and served in full function in 2012.
