Scientists discovered stegodon fossils in a karst cave on November 13 while investigating sinkhole groups in an underground river canyon to explore the groundwater's source. They later discovered a hollow fossil that is similar to an elephant incisor, and two huge axle-tooth fossils and some fossil fragments.
