Though he lost his hands at the age of nine, Ni did not lose confidence. In 1999, he began his athletic career as a sprinter and was a member of winning team for the 4x400-meter relay event in China’s national games for people with disabilities four years later. /CNS Photo

Ni seemed to have found his talent at sports, and he won a gold medal in the national para-cycling championships in 2013. /CNS Photo

Ni retired from competitive sports in 2016 and began his career in fitness industry. To become more fit, he spent some six hours a day in the gym. /CNS Photo
