Rant about Halloween costume triggers debate on Chinese social media

A recently-surfaced video showing a man yelling slurs at two other passengers wearing Halloween costumes has stirred debate in China.
Seen sitting with his arms crossed on a subway in Qingdao City, east China's Shandong Province on Halloween night, the man can be heard saying, "Just by looking at you, I can see that you're a prostitute. Do you know that?”
"You look neither like a man nor a woman,” he added. Later, the man went on to tell them they looked “disgraceful."
In response, a female passenger repeatedly tells him it's none of his business.
On Weibo, Chinese netizens took offense at the man's rude behavior and denounced his remarks.
“This man with that kind of character is really a disgrace,” reads a comment by @lu_amabilis which has garnered nearly 50,000 likes.
It's unclear what the passengers' Halloween costumes were.

Halloween celebrations have seen a drastic increase in China in the past years especially among Chinese students and young professionals.
Ingenious costumes have also become a common sight this year as many have put their creativity to the test, dressing up as characters with Chinese or Asian inspirations – for example, characters from the Chinese "Legend of the White Snake," horror films depicting “haunted brides,” as well as Chinese animations.
On October 31, two girls were spotted in Beijing going as snakes from the classic Chinese legend "Lady White Snake." They wore what appears to be a long dress but with a long snake tail coming out of the back.
