Eight people were killed by a carbon dioxide leak on a Fujian-registered cargo ship in an eastern Chinese port, officials confirmed on Saturday.
The incident happened at around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday at Longyan port in Rongcheng City, Shandong Province, the local authority said.
An investigation of the incident is underway.
