As the world's second-largest rodent, the beaver is famous for building dams. Due to poor eyesight and a clumsy pace, beavers usually stay inside their dams during the day and come out searching for food at night.
Though it is listed as “Least Concern” by the IUCN red list, the beaver is under first-class state protection in China. There are only about 500 beavers living in their only natural habitat in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
In this episode, we are going to investigate how a beaver looks for food for the first time after winter and what predators it will face.
