The 35th International Kite Festival kicked off at the International Kite Flying Field in east China’s Weifang City on Saturday. A total of 89 teams with 220 players and 502 kites from 60 countries and regions participated in the kite flying competitions. Formerly a three-day event, the kite festival will run until May 10 this year, the longest ever. The festival started in 1984 and become more and more popular in China.
