On February 22, Hayabusa2 will touch down on the Ryugu asteroid at around 8:00 a.m. JST. Hayabusa2 is traveling to Ryugu as it is believed that the asteroid will shed light on the origins of the solar system. The probe is a follow-up to Japan's original Hayabusa mission, which was the first spacecraft to take samples from an asteroid. If the mission is successful, the rovers will conduct the world's first moving robotic observation of an asteroid surface.
