China's Haixing 6000 submersible, also known as Starfish 6000, made nine dives in its first scientific operation in October 2018. Capable of diving 6,000 meters, the Haixing 6000 is the first remotely operated underwater vehicle built by China. On October 16, the Haixing 6000 worked on the seabed at 6,001 meters underwater, a national depth record by a Chinese robotic submersible.
