Chinese weightlifter and Rio Olympic champion Shi Zhiyong showed a remarkable dominance at the 2018 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan on Sunday, as he broke the world records three times en route to sweeping the men's 73kg category titles.
Shi broke away from the rest of the pack with incredible ease, hoisting 161kg and 164kg in the opening discipline to twice break the snatch world record. His insatiable appetite for rewriting the record books then continued as he again set the world record in the clean and jerk with a lift of 196kg.

The stunning run of form saw the 25-year-old seal the overall win with a record-breaking total of 360kg in the 73kg weight class, another historic milestone in his illustrious career.
Eager to wrap up the night, Shi declined a chance to break his own record with a last attempt.
In Shi's wake, South Korea's Won Jeongsik took the second place in the event's overall category, with a total lift of 348kg, followed by Belarus' Vadzim Likharad with 343kg.
