The Premier League champion Manchester City secured the 2018 FA (Football Association) Community Shield with a convincing 2-0 victory over Chelsea on a scorching Sunday at Wembley, London.
Sergio Aguero was proved to be the match-winner as the 30-year-old Argentine striker bagged two goals and once in each half for his record-extending 200th and 201st goals for City.
The Argentine international broke the deadlock in the 13th minutes to latch onto the first ball by slotting low across goal, a ball passed from his teammate 18-year-old Phil Foden who drove at the Chelsea defense. After the break, Aguero added another in the 58th minute, finishing off a lightning counter-attack with a low finish past Chelsea's Caballero following an incisive pass from City's Bernardo Silva.

Both managers, Pep Guardiola of the Manchester City and Maurizio Sarri of Chelsea, gave youth a chance, with two of England's U17 World Cup winners making their debut on the pitch. Benjamin Mendy of the City made his first club appearance since last September, and Chelsea's 17-year-old Callum Hudson-Odoi provided the best moments in attack.
Sarri was without his best forward player Eden Hazard and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, both linked with moves to Real Madrid.
City, who won last year's title by 19 points, were also without some of their stars - with Kevin de Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and David Silva all absent.
