Zhu Renmin Ecology Museum opens in Silicon Valley

By Mark Niu

Tucked away in corner of Sunny Valley, California, a sign over a door reads Zhu Remin Art Museum Silicon Valley.

Most people who see that sign will have no idea what it's all about, but the founders of the project hope that will gradually change.

Inside the museum, you can read about the numerous projects Chinese artist Zhu Renmin has undertaken and see some of his original works, which often utilize recycled materials.

Among his most famous is the island of Putuo Lotus, which he purchased to rescue from housing development. You can see his work to create the Hangzhou Grand Canal Gourmet Street and "Potala at the Sea" Mount Putuo Wharf – a popular tourist attraction that was once a barren cliff.

Zhu Renmin already has six museums in China and one in Verona, Italy.

This Silicon Valley location is his first in the United States.

The company Arteco is in charge of opening Zhu's museums around the world.

But it also has a grander vision – to expose the world the value of Zhu's work in order to spur projects outside of China.

There's also a reason Zhu chose Silicon Valley: Arteco is currently working on artificial intelligence (AI) programs, trying to replicate how Zhu thinks when he looks at a project.

The idea is to be able to reproduce Zhu's work, greatly speeding up the process of designing and creating ecological projects around the globe.
