A power blackout forced Hamburg Airport to close and suspended flight operations on Sunday, the German airport announced on Twitter.

The blackout started at about 0800 GMT, and travelers have been told to consult their airline before heading to the airport.
The two terminals of the airport have been evacuated.

Hamburg airport is Germany's fifth busiest and has 200 incoming and outbound flights on an average Sunday.
