British Prime Minister Theresa May confirmed on Thursday that she will quit before the next general election scheduled for 2022, UK media reported.
May said she would "love" to lead her Conservative Party into the next general election, but the party "would prefer to go into that election with a new leader."
Earlier, May survived a confidence vote in her leadership of the Conservative Party, and she is now in Brussels to meet with EU leaders to win fresh concessions on her Brexit deal.
