Firefighters are battling to control a forest fire which was sparked by a lightning strike at 11:00 a.m on Saturday in southwestern China's Sichuan Province, said authorities on Sunday.

A total of 593 people have been dispatched to the scene for the fight.

Another group of about 100 firefighters is scheduled to arrive at the scene at 20:00 on Sunday.
