Chinese telecoms giant Huawei, the second largest electronics producer in the world, has launched a foldable 5G smartphone in Barcelona on Sunday ahead of the 2019 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Spain's Barcelona.
The Mate X would be able to download a one-gigabyte movie in three seconds. Richard Yu, head of Huawei's Consumer Business Groups said, the phone will be priced at 2,299 euros (2,607 U.S. dollars) when it goes on sale later this year, setting the tone for a new upper limit for consumer smartphones.
"This phone is not only for today for 5G but also for future 5G. On all the benchmarks you can see the performance, the speed is the fastest for 5G in the world," said Yu.
