The National People's Congress (NPC) is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with the National Assembly of Angola, said China's top legislator Li Zhanshu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee.
Li made the remarks during a meeting with Angolan President Joao Lourenco at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday.
This year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Angola.
The two countries have many common positions, common interests, and shared responsibilities, Li said.
He said China and Angola should exploit complementary strengths, expand pragmatic cooperation, jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) to better benefit the people of both sides.
The two countries have always been sincere, friendly, equal and supportive to each other, he noted, encouraging the two sides to implement the consensus agreed by the two countries' leaders.
Lourenco said Angola thanks China for its selfless help and is willing to work together to continuously deepen the strategic partnership.
He also expressed his full confidence in the future of Angola-China relations.
