The whole of Beijing was thrilled by the post-holiday snowfall on Tuesday, when snowflakes whirled from the sky like a myriad of feathers, making the city's landmarks even more magical.
Thousands of visitors and shutterbugs simply couldn't skip the chance to record the sight. It took longer than usual for a proper snowfall during this winter season in Beijing, making it a unique event. The Forbidden City was one of the hottest spots – even after the busy Spring Festival holiday, it remained popular.
Photos taken on Tuesday also show some other tourist attractions decorated by the snowfall, including the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Beihai Park, and Nanluoguxiang, one of the most widely-known hutong areas in Beijing.
The weather forecast predicts another snowfall on Thursday and tickets to the Forbidden City on this Wednesday and Thursday have already completely sold out, according to its official online ticketing website.
