MOFA: China's position on Taiwan issue never changes

China will not promise to give up using force against intervention of any outside forces and the few separatist activities by the very few Taiwan independence separatists, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang said at a regular briefing Wednesday, adding "China's position on Taiwan issue never changes."
Speaking of China's policy on Taiwan, Lu said, citing Chinese President Xi Jinping, "We push forward the just cause of the peaceful reunification of our country while striding towards the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation."

"One-China principle is the general consensus recognized by the international community and China has gained a broad understanding of its just cause of the peaceful reunification," Lu added with quotes from Xi.
"In his speech, Xi comprehensively reviewed the historical breakthroughs made on cross-Strait relations since the founding of the People's Republic of China 70 years ago, the breakthroughs made after the implementation of the peaceful reunification policy in particular."
Xi addressed Wednesday morning at the gathering which commemorated the 40th anniversary of issuing Message to Compatriots in Taiwan. Xi highlighted the breakthroughs made in cross-Strait relations since 1949, and reassured that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China.
