Final preparations are underway for the first ever China International Import Expo (CIIE).
China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) announced today that President Xi Jinping will attend the opening ceremony on November 5, and deliver a keynote speech. CIIE is the world's first large-scale national exhibition to focus on imports. Political and business leaders from about 150 countries and regions will attend the six-day event.
Wang Bingnan, vice minister of commerce, introduced the strong line-up of the expo.
"All G20 members, BRICS countries and SCO countries will be on hand. More than 50 countries along the Belt and Road and more than 30 lesser developed countries will also participate."
