Brazilian midfielder Taliska gave Guangzhou Evergrande a dramatic victory by scoring a superb last-minute free-kick to beat Shandong Luneng 2-1 at home in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province, in the sixth round of 2019 Chinese Super League on Friday.
Talisca broke the deadlock for Guangzhou Evergrande in the 19th minute, heading home Huang Bowen's cross from the left. Shandong Luneng drew level before the break when Hao Junmin found Italian striker Graziano Pelle to head past the goalkeeper.
The game looked to have been heading for a draw before Talisca scored in the 95th minute to seal the victory for Guangzhou Evergrande who are now second in the table behind leaders Beijing Guoan.
"Talisca is just like NBA star Stephen Curry. You know how he scores, but you can't stop it," said Li Xiaopeng, the coach of Shandong Luneng.
Elsewhere, Tianjin Tianhai were still seeking for their first win of the season after they draw 0-0 with Shanghai SIPG.
"The players were a little tired on the field, and there's no problem with players' attitudes. We tried very hard to get the points, but the team deserved one point for tonight's performance." the coach of Shanghai SIPG Vitor Pereira said after the match.
