Drought has hit China's Liaoning Province due to lack of rainfall, threatening the growth of crops in the region. Precipitation this spring dropped by nearly 90 percent compared to the same period in previous years, posing a severe challenge for this plowing season. Mobilizing pumps, delivering water with vehicles, irrigation and cloud seeding were used to combat the drought. Local authorities said that the drought may worsen, as there is still no sign of rain.
