Xi encourages China's navy to commit to training

Chinese President Xi Jinping toured the lower cabins of a submarine to learn about the technical and tactical performance of the PLA Navy's submarine force and to encourage the soldiers in the navy to commit to training.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, inspected the Northern Theater Command navy on Thursday.
Xi praised the soldiers for their answers to the questions he raised while visiting a training room and showed concerns about the work and life conditions.
Then he listened to the work report of the Northern Theater Command navy and said that the navy force should conscientiously implement the new generation of military training regulations and military training programs.

"Increasing training intensity, innovating training mode, and strictly improving training supervision is important," he added.
He also told the naval forces that China's sea-based nuclear capabilities should be well-developed. In another meeting with senior navy officials, President Xi called for more intense training and supervision of military construction.
Xi emphasized the need to resolutely implement the Party's thinking on strengthening the military for the new era and continue to enhance the political loyalty of the armed forces, strengthen them through reform and technology, and run them in accordance with law.
