Boston won the World Series' first game 8-4 in a high-scoring affair, and with David Price starting on the mound for the Red Sox on Thursday, Boston was looking to put the pressure on the Dodgers.
On another cold night at Fenway Park, the regular season ace did not disappoint.
The Dodgers tried to counter Price with South Korean star Ryu Hyun-jin. In the bottom of the first inning, Ryu struck out Andrew Benintendi for the first of his five strikeouts.
Ryu later faced Ian Kinsler with a man on second, and Kinsler lined one into left which gave Xander Bogaerts plenty of time to score and make it 1-0 Boston.
Then Jackie Bradley Jr. grounded a base hit into the hole. Chris Taylor cut it off and delivered a fantastic throw to Manny Machado who tagged Kinsler out at third.
At the top of the fourth inning and bases loaded for the Dodgers, Matt Kemp sent a a ball deep to center field and David Freese tagged up before coming around to score to make it a 1-1 game.
Yasiel Puig later looped one over second base. Another run came home and the Dodgers lead 2-1.
The Red Sox loaded the bases in the fifth on Ryu who was pulled in favor of Ryan Madson. He promptly walked Steve Pearce to tie the game at 2-2. Then JD Martinez flew one into right which found the grass. Two runs score and the Red Sox take a 4-2 lead.
Boston won 4-2 for a 2-0 series lead with Game Three in Los Angeles on Friday.
