Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on the Moroccan king to consolidate the political trust between China and Morocco and deepen cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Xi made the remarks on Thursday in an exchange of congratulatory messages with King Mohammed VI of Morocco, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Morocco.
In his message, the Chinese president pointed out that Morocco is one of the first African countries to build diplomatic relations with China. The bilateral ties have developed rapidly with fruitful outcomes generated across the board since the two countries formed a strategic partnership in 2016, he noted.
Xi also vowed to work together with the Moroccan King to implement the agreements reached at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation 2018 Beijing Summit and aim for greater development in the strategic partnership between the two countries.
In his message, the Moroccan King said his country is willing to actively participate in the projects of the BRI and strive for more positive outcomes in collaboration between Morocco and China, as well as in that between Africa and China.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang also exchanged congratulatory messages with Moroccan Prime Minister Saadeddine Othmani on the same day.
