Pei Xiping, member of the board and general manager of Yangquan Coal Industry Group in north China's Shanxi Province, is under investigation for serious violation of discipline and law, according to an online statement by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China, and the National Supervisory Commission on Saturday.

Located in the coal-rich Shanxi Province, the group has China's largest anthracite coal production base and is on the Fortune Global 500 list.
