The speech delivered by Chinese President Xi Jinping during the opening ceremony of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit in Beijing was full of "his own sincerity," Nana Akufo-Addo, the President of Ghana, told CGTN.
"The spirit with which he spoke, the clear identification with Africa's position that you found in him, that his own sincerity. For me that was the most impressive aspect of his speech," Addo added.
The president thanked Xi, as he confirmed the real friendship with Africa during his speech, and said China is a generous friend of Africa.
"So I'm very satisfied with the trip. I'm very satisfied with first of all the state visit that he honored us with and the discussion we had there."
Addo also gave his own opinions toward the "Five Nos" and eight major initiatives, which were two important parts of Xi's speech.
On "Five Nos", which in specific are "no interference with development paths, no interference in internal affairs, no imposing one's will on others, no attaching political conditions, and no political self-interest in investments and financing", Addo said the principle is important within the international law as "nobody should have the right to interfere in the politics of any other country".
He believed Xi is 100 percent correct in that the principle is also significant for Chinese foreign policy.
Speaking of the reason why the eight major initiatives are especially important for the industrialization of Ghana, Addo put that the concepts and ideas involved in the initiatives will enable his country's economy in fields of green connectivity, infrastructural development and industrial transformation.
"I think globally, all of them have a great deal of significance for us."
