Xi hails close Sino-Arab ties for a better future

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday sent a congratulatory message to Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, the rotating president of the League of Arab States (LAS), on the opening of the 30th Arab League Council's meeting at the summit level in the Tunisian capital of Tunis.
The LAS is committed to promoting peace, stability and development in the Middle East, said President Xi, adding the league has been advocating political solutions to hot issues, and making efforts for the Arab world to achieve joint self-improvement.
In his message, Xi also said China is willing to work together with the Arab side to enhance strategic mutual trust, promote pragmatic cooperation, close people-to-people exchanges, and jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
The Chinese president encouraged the two sides to create a better future for Sino-Arab strategic partnership, and contribute to the concept of "a community with a shared future for mankind".
