A Phayre's leaf monkey made itself at home in a village in Pu’er City, southwest China’s Yunnan Province, two years ago. Ever since, the money would show up every day, wandered around and played with the local children. Villagers said they tried to release the monkey into the wild, but it would always come back. So they decided to hand it over to the local forestry authorities. The monkey is an endangered species under top-level state protection.
